I've never heard of it lmao! Aurin was my character, and there was another one named Glorin. That 1992 sounds about right. I just remember the 2E part and my char name lol.
This is the game rulebook. But that's not AD&D 2e, that's Basic D&D. Before WoTC bought D&D in 1999 (if I remember correctly), when D&D was TSR, there were two lines: AD&D, and Basic D&D. Although both lines shared some mechanics, they were actually different games. AD&D had 3 editions: AD&D 1e, AD&D 2e, and AD&D 2.5. Basic D&D had several as well, but they are known by their author's name (or sometimes by publication date). The Holmes edition was the first, and then came the Moldvay edition, the Mentzer edition (often referred together as the Moldvay/Mentzer edition), the Denning edition (which I believe is the one Dragon Quest is based on), and the Stewart's last in 1994.
When WoTC bought TSR it made the good decision to merge the two lines into one: D&D 3e. That's why when you talk about 2e, you're talking about AD&D 2e (2.5 actually), since WoTC followed the AD&D line to number its edition.
Edit: By the way, I guess it's okay to post a 1992 scan manual link. If it's a copyright violation issue, please let me know and I'll remove the link.
Oh no. I just skimmed through the manual and yes it is based on AD&D. At first glance I hadn't seen the TACH0 table, so I thought it was Basic. But in this game they call it Fighting score. Anyway the rules are very simplified, but the core is from AD&D.
Noice!! I appreciate you finding a rule book for it. There is a lot of history with D&D. It has to be hard to keep track of everything sometimes lol. I really appreciate it!
