I'm working on a half-orc dex-based fighter, focused on finesse, mobility, and speed. The stats and character traits have been easy, but I'm struggling with a clan name. Background-wise, he grew up in a city, deliberately isolated from most orcs in order to survive, since he is, frankly, a runt. So I see him or a friend from his youth inventing his clan name. Using the adjective+noun pattern and his personality, I'm thinking of variations of quick+blade: Hawkbrand, Hawkshiv.
What are other monsters/beasts that are known for their speed?
Also is this character type already a cliche, but I just don't know about it yet?
Off the top of my head, I might propose: Viperbite. It conveys lightning fast, lethal and also finesse, imo.
I don't think that your character is even close to the stereotypical half-orc. That said, even playing with stereotypes and subverting expectations might be fun, so as long as you think your character is interesting and fun to play, go for it :)
Great suggestions. I didn't even think about going from the sky to the opposite side of the spectrum (ecosphere?) And a kite is one I'm going to have to read up on. Filcat, for some reason that clan name reminds me of Finding Nemo - "Righteous! RIGHTEOUS!"
Thanks everyone!
