So I was going through some comments on spells that I saw being cast while watching a DnD session and I couldn't find anything online to pertain or confirm this but if a large or bigger creature casts or uses an effect (like say word of radiance) that hits targets within X feet of it, what is the actual starting range point for this?
On a square grid, a medium size creature (occupying a 1x1 square) can have 8 spaces around it while a large creature (occupying a 2x2 square) can have 12 spaces around it, etc. Are those squares hit specifically based on the edge of a creature's size space or is it still reaching from one specific square in the creature's space?
In general, the effect applies based on the edge of the squares a creature occupies, so yes, a large creature using such a power will effect more squares.
