I apologize if this has been asked, but I didn't see it when I was searching
1) If I cast wall of fire as a ring, on a chokepoint, and someone runs straight through (crosses the fire line twice) would they take dmg for each instance? or just 1 time?
2) If someone runs through, whether it's ring or line, and end their turn in the hot zone, would that be dmg for crossing the fire, + dmg for ending in hot zone, or just 1 instance of damage?
-deals 5d8 fire damage to each creature that ends its turn within 10 feet of that side or inside the wall. A creature takes the same damage when it enters the wall for the first time on a turnorends its turn there.
1. Once. The creature can cross as many times as they like, on a single turn, but will only take damage once from crossing. Note that it's not once per "round" so if the creature gets shoved, pushed, pulled, thrown or teleported into the fire on another creature's turn, it would take the damage again.
2. Yes. If the creature is crazy enough to then end it's turn on the burning side, it will also take damage. People are sometimes confused by the "or" in that last line with regards to ending their turn in the actual fire, but it's an inclusive "or". Consider if it had been "and" instead, then we would require a creature to both pass through the wall AND end its turn there.
Really, a creature simply shouldn't be silly enough to run into the fire then sit in it.

Thank you! That was how I was understanding on both part, but you confirmed my thought on it.
