Been playing around with the idea of a Goliath fighter that DW greatswords but I'm trying to avoid any homebrew stuff. Does size mechanics or any gear allow for this?

You only lose if you die. Any time else, there's opportunity for a come back.
Nope. Two-handed weapons take two hands. That being said, the type of weapon that you're wielding can be relative, so what's a greatsword for a human could effectively be a longsword for a goliath. That wouldn't have any mechanical effect, though.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

There’s nothing in size mechanics that allow for it, and no magic items come to mind. Two-handed is a pretty absolute trait. Best you can do in official material is the Dual Wielder feat and longswords unless there’s an obscure magic item I’m not familiar with.
I think you asked that humorously, but that wouldn't change the fact that the answer is Thri-kreen.

However, four arms don't get you any more attacks per round then two arms.
... that's not always true. There are plenty of situations in which you might have a hand occupied for one reason or another while also wanting to dual wield but being unable to so losing out on that bonus action attack.
Having the extra hands would allow you to still get the bonus action attack.
So, more attacks per round.
Eg. If you're sword and board. No free offhand to BA attack with. But a thrikreen sword and board can still also like grapple a dude and also hold a dagger or whatever in offhand and still be able to BA attack.
Excellent follow up questions. What races have 4 arms?
Thrikreen have 4 arms, but there are severe limitations for what the other two can do. They can wield light weapons, but they can't be used as a second hand for a two-handed weapon.
Could a thrikreen wield a greatsword in their top two hands & a rapier or another light weapon in one of their lower hands? Physically yes i know, but as a dual wielder and make attacks with both? I think the answer is no, but possibly yes with dual wielder feat. Still making sure because i really have no idea, ive only ever played spellcasters so i dont know what im talking about lol. Bonus extra hand for shield if that would work which would be nice.

If you have the Dual Wielder feat, then you could attack with both a greatsword in your primary hands and a Light weapon in one of your secondary hands. You can't use a rapier, because it isn't Light, and you can't wield a shield, because that's not something that the secondary arms can do.

You have two slightly smaller secondary arms below your primary pair of arms. The secondary arms can manipulate an object, open or close a door or container, pick up or set down a Tiny object, or wield a weapon that has the light property.
