Heyo! I currently am playing an artificer (whose character I absolutely love, artificer warforged with amnesia) and I want to ask how to specific infusions would/could work with the cantrip Magic Stone, those infusions being Returning Weapon and Repeating Shot.
For those who don't know, Magic stone is a bonus action cantrip that enchants three pebbles or stones to deal 1d6 + spellcasting modifier when thrown by hand or with a sling. The Returning Weapon infusion gives the weapon +1 and returns to the users hand after being used to make a ranged attack. Repeating shot gives a weapon +1 for ranged attacks, ignores loading property, and magically produces it's own ammo.
My questions are: Could I infuse a rock with Returning Weapon, use Magic Stone, and throw it/sling it? How would damage be calculated? Also, if I infused a sling with repeating shot, would I be able to use Magic Stone on the ammo, and how would damage be calculated? Thanks!
I like the way you think, but you wouldn't be able to use Returning Weapon on a stone on account of the requirement on the infusion that says it only works on weapons with the Thrown property, which stones aren't.

Returning weapon requires: Item: A simple or martial weapon with the thrown property
A stone does not meet that requirement, so no, you can’t infuse it.
As for repeating shot, if you put a Magic Stone in an infused sling, I’d rule the damage is d6+1.
