Scenario 1: There's a Mantrap with PC1 engulfed inside and PC2 casts Chromatic Orb at Mantrap. PC1 is fine and only the Mantrap takes damage. Yes?
Scenario 2: There's a Mantrap with PC1 engulfed inside and PC2 casts Fireball 5 ft from Mantrap. PC1 is fine because they have full cover (there's no way for the fire to reach them and they aren't affected by effects outside the Mantrap anyways) and only the Mantrap takes damage. Yes?
Clarification on Mantrap's Engulf "has total cover from an attacks and other effects outside the Mantrap". I currently think the creature engulfed can't be targeted by an attack and can't be affected by things like a Fireball explosion or a Flaming Sphere sitting 5 ft away (it making you role Dex save if you end your turn 5 ft from it). Does this all sound correct?
