Looking for clarification between the cantrip Primal Savagery and the Bonus Action Bite ability for the Tome of Heroes Subclass Snake Speaker.
Would Primal Savagery then allow for the Bite bonus action? The ability is described as: Bite. You develop venomous fangs. When you use the Attack action and attack with a weapon, you can use a bonus action to bite a target within 5 feet of you with your fangs. You are proficient with the fangs, which deal piercing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength or Dexterity modifier (your choice) plus 1d8 poison damage on a hit.
So would I be able to use the Primal Savagery cantrip in conjunction with the Bite ability or would I have to use an actual weapon attack to use the Bite ability?
So would I be able to use the Primal Savagery cantrip in conjunction with the Bite ability or would I have to use an actual weapon attack to use the Bite ability?
No they are incompatible because Primal Savagery requires you to take the "Cast a Spell" action (which then allows you to make an attack) but the Bite ability triggers on you taking the "Attack Action".
Also the Bite ability has a requirement that says "and attack with a weapon".
