Has anyone found a clearly defined XP system other than what exists in the DMG? I don't want to have to make one myself (but I will if I have to)---I know that lots of DMs use hybrid systems, and homebrew XP systems, but does anyone know of one that is clearly spelled out at least up to level 10 in structured detail?

As mentioned, the XP requirements for levels from 1-20 are page 15 of the Players Hand book as part of the section "Beyond 1st Level". The monster manual lists the XP value for each creature. The encounter builder uses these numbers to determine the difficulty of fights since higher XP creatures are typically more challenging. (There should be a correlation between CR and XP).
However, having played using XP for years, both players and DMs seem to prefer using Milestones. It is less work, doesn't require throwing in meaningless random encounters to boost XP so the party is an appropriate level for the next challenges you have in mind and the few times I checked it seemed to work out more or less the same for the home game I run (which levels a bit slower than the standard in 5e published adventures). Basically, the accounting of XP wasn't worth the effort though there is a bit of a thrill watching your XP total increase until it is finally enough for the next level.

Hi all!

Yeah it’s the default in the PHB, and if you’re looking for something else I’d need to know what in particular so I can direct you to the right place.
Screw XP. Use the Milestone system. Makes far more sense.
Numbers are for small calculations. Large one work better by feel. This game should not be an accountant's 10 year old history log.
Bosses do not track every penny you save/make/lose for the company. They promote when you have a track record of success, not reached X dollars.
