I've noticed a rules interaction that could be interpreted in a way that I'm not sure was entirely intended. Spare the Dying doubles it's range at 5th, 11th and 17th level. The upgrade to the Potent Spellcasting option of the Elemental Fury feature obtained at 15th level adds 300 feet to the range of any Druid cantrip with a range of at least 10 feet. My question is, at 17th level, does the range of Spare the Dying double before or after applying the 300 foot bonus? In other words, would it be 420 feet (120 from the 17 level cantrip upgrade + 300) or 720 feet (60 feet from the 11th level upgrade to range + 300 feet from Improved Potent Spellcasting for 360 feet and then double it for the 17th level upgrade)? I know how I would probably rule it, if I were a GM, but I'm curious what other people would rule.
420. The range of spare the dying is 120 feet at 17th level. You then add the 300 feet from IEF. The feature alters the cantrip and the range adjustment is not “double the distance” it is a set range. So just like any other cantrip that had a range of 120 feet IEF would then add 300 feet to it.

I know you already came to your conclusion, but I just wanted to mention that is kind of a weird place to divide the options. In my opinion, either the 300 feet bonus applies to the original range (15 feet) and is doubled at 5th, 11th, and 17th for 2,520 feet or all of the upgrades apply first and it is added at the end.

The feature add 300 feet to the range of your cantrip. And leveling up does not double the distance. (Edit: I guess the wording does say double. But it still alters the cantrip range so you take the range and add 300) It sets it at an exact number. So 15+300 is 315. When it goes up to 30 you add 300 for 330. When it goes up to 60 you add 300 for 360 and when it goes to 120 you add 300 for 420.

I agree that the result is 420, but it's weird that in the original post, the question was do you add it to the 60 feet or the 120 range. Either you add before all the range changes or you add it after all of them.

I see. Yeah they asked it because the range increases to 60 at 11th. Then IEF kicks in at 15th before the range increases to 120 at 17th. So they didn’t take the earlier level ranges into account. It seems we are both on the same page with increasing after range changes.
I did take the earlier level range increases into account. My thinking was that with the wording of the upgrades to Spare the Dying, it could be interpreted that the range is 60 at 11th level (double it's previous range of 30), then it becomes 360 at 15th level due to the improvement to Potent Spellcasting, and then at level 17 that 360 doubles to become 720. That is, of course, obviously not the way it was intended and not the way i would rule it, but with the wording of both the upgrades to the cantrip and the improvement to Potent Spellcasting, a min-maxing player could easily interpret it that way. We all agree that the intended interpretation is the base range becomes 60 at 11th level and remains so at 15th, with the 300 bonus being applied separately from the base range of the cantrip, and at 17th level only the base range doubles, becoming 120, with the 300 remaining as a separate bonus.

Yeah, that's what I thought and probably how I would rule it.
