I'm running a refresher/first-timer 5e campaign and I recently gave my Druid a +1 Moon Sickle and he was wondering if Cure Wounds would work with the Moon Sickle as a spell focus? I see Cure Wounds requires the caster to be touching the target of restorative HP but could he use the sickle as a spell focus for Cure Wounds if the sickle was touching them?
The moon sickle offers a bonus on attack and damage rolls of spells and of the DC of spells (none of which cure wounds requires), and a bonus of 1d4 on spells that restore hit points. The d4 is the only thing that would affect a cure wounds, but it sure would affect that spell.
It doesn't seem so. The part of the description about healing spells doesn't require holding the item. Cure wounds doesn't need a material component. So I think the 1d4 applies to all hitpoint restoring spells as long as you are attunedto holding the item.
Moon Sickle: When you cast a spell that restores hit points, you can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the amount of hit points restored, provided you are holding the sickle.

I'm not sure what you're asking.

I'm asking if Cure Wounds is cast as the spell would the player need to be touching both the target and the sickle to get the additional 1d4?

Thanks for clarifying!
