I was reading Sacred Weapon Channel Divinity feature -
When you take the Attack action, you can expend one use of your Channel Divinity to imbue one Melee weapon that you are holding with positive energy. For 10 minutes or until you use this feature again, you add your Charisma modifier to attack rolls you make with that weapon (minimum bonus of +1), and each time you hit with it, you cause it to deal its normal damage type or Radiant damage.
So, Say I make a melee attack with a weapon I am proficient with and I have a +2 Str and +3 Charisma, Proficiency bonus (PB) of +2. Does that mean for the attack roll. I would roll a D20, add 2 for Str, 3 for Cha, and 2 for PB. Total of +7 On the attack roll to hit ?
Or is it just D20 +2 PB and +3 Cha for a Total of +5 to hit ?
Damage is then 1d8 (Warhammer one handed) +2PB and +2str either bludgeoning or radiant
The attack bonus in that example would be +7. The Charisma modifier is being added on top of whatever the attack normally uses. (It could be Dexterity rather than Strength, if you're attacking with a finesse weapon.)
The damage would be 1d8+2, your choice of Bludgeoning or Radiant. You don't generally add your proficiency bonus to damage rolls unless a feature specifically tells you to.
