The other day during a session, my Battle Master Fighter was attacked. The attack missed, so I used Riposte on it and scored a critical hit on my attack roll.
Hew from Great Weapon Master says the following: Hew. Immediately after you score a Critical Hit with a Melee weapon or reduce a creature to 0 Hit Points with one, you can make one attack with the same weapon as a Bonus Action.
I assume that I would not be able to take a Bonus Action in this type of instance to make another attack, since Riposte is a Reaction?
You don't have a Bonus Action to use when it is not your turn, so generally no a reaction attack will not be able to trigger a feature like Hew. If, for some reason, you use a reaction to attack on your own turn (perhaps reacting to another creature's readied movement or similar) then your Hew Bonus Action would be available to use immediately on that turn.
I assume that I would not be able to take a Bonus Action in this type of instance to make another attack, since Riposte is a Reaction?
TIA
I agree with @RegentCorreon's answer. But if you had a weapon with the Cleave weapon mastery then that additional attack would be allowed even though it isn't your turn.

That's what I was thinking.
