Pride Silk Armor

Does pride silk as armor for those class that need to have no armor for their ability to work?

Does pride silk count as armor for those, who class/subclass require no armor for some of their abilities to work?

While Pride Silk  provides an alternative AC calculation of 11 + your Dexterity modifier for anyone not wearing armor, it otherwise doesn't count as an armor per se.

While D&D Beyond has one of the two entries as Light Armor for coding purposes, such fabric is just gear.
