Just took my second level in warlock. I tried to take Lessons of the First Ones twice for my 2 new invocations. Dungeon master read it differently (thought it could only be taken once / level) to how I did and we decided to do some research and come back to the choice.
My question is, can you take the same repeatable invocation twice at level 2, assuming that you meet the prerequisites?
Normally, You can’t pick the same invocation more than once unless its description says otherwise.
Invocation Lessons of the First Ones say its Repeatable You can gain this invocation more than once. Each time you do so, choose a different Origin feat.
Because at level 2 you gain 2 Invocations, you can effectively gain this invocation more than once.
Replacing and Gaining Invocations. Whenever you gain a Warlock level, you can replace one of your invocations with another one for which you qualify. You can’t replace an invocation if it’s a prerequisite for another invocation that you have.
When you gain certain Warlock levels, you gain more invocations of your choice, as shown in the Invocations column of the Warlock Features table.
You can’t pick the same invocation more than once unless its description says otherwise.
Nothing in the rules says you can't repeat on the same level, so go ahead.
At level 2, a Human Warlock could have 5 Origin Feats (Regular Origin Feat, extra Origin Feat from Human's Versatile feature, 3x Lessons of the First Ones).

In 2024 rules what is a Human's Versatile feature?
A 2nd level warlock can have 3 invocations. All three can be Lessons of the First Ones if you choose. As you can change 1 invocation when you increase levels, the Level 1 invocation can change if you so desire as well. If you picked Lessons of the First Ones at level one, you can change that to different origin feat as well, but lose the original choice in the process.

Because Lessons of the First Ones has Prerequisite: Level 2+ Warlock the Invocation gained at 1st level makes it ineligible.

You can't take it at level 1, but when you gain a Warlock level you can replace one you already have with a new one. So when you reach level 2, you can replace the invocation you got at level 1 with a different one, including one that has a prerequisite of "Level 2+ Warlock", because you meet that prerequisite now.

It's the Human species feature that grants an additional Origin Feat. Yes, it's in the 2024 Player's Handbook.
