Hi!, long story short I'm a human fighter in my friend groups campaign. and I've been using all the spell casting initiate feats. my DM decided to give me an extra cantrip that i learned from an NPC, and I'm curious if there's a way to add said cantrip. when i try to open the spell menu it says i can't add it because I don't have the proper class requirements. literally anything helps if possible
If you know what Cantrip your DM is giving you and it won't change at a later date, you could create a homebrew Ring with the Cantrip in it. That would add it to your character and your character sheet.
Cheers!

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.

Unfortunately D&D Beyond's character builder doesn't have any built-in support for directly adding spells outside the normal rules.
It's possible to do it with a homebrew feat using the site's homebrew system, though it's got a bit of a learning curve.

Yeah, this comes up with my artificer. I can focus and learn any one cantrip, but theres no easy way to put it on my spell lists.
Dndbeyond def needs an upgrade on this
