Hi there. We're doing the (remix) version of Descent to Avernus. The description of the Abyssal Chicken says 'tiny fiend (demon)'. It also says they taste like fatty chicken.
They taste like fatty chicken... in Hell? Where everything tastes like ash? These *demons* who vanish back to the Abyss when killed and leave ichor behind taste like fatty chicken? How is this accomplished? Am I missing a concept?
I can just say, oh Abyssal Chickens aren't like other demons and they don't work the same way, but I am hoping there is a reason. Thanks!

If everything tastes like ash in a place, and these creatures from the same place say they taste like fatty chicken, well...
That just sounds like a case of specific beats general to me.
Specific overrides general ... or something.

Imagining my players going against some evil demon chickens, they would 100% try to cook and eat one. It's fun if it actually does taste like chicken
