When deflecting attacks as a monk, should you consider the entirety of a monsters multi attacks damage or a single damage instance of the multi-attacks?
I agree, especially because the feature says "When an attack roll hits you...", and Multiattack (similar to the Extra Attack class feature), involves two or more separate attack rolls.
Deflect Attack: "When an attack roll hits you and its damage includes Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing damage, you can take a Reaction to reduce the attack’s total damage"
Monster has 3 attacks. First attack roll, monk deflects, using their reaction. Second monster attack monk has no reaction to deflect again.

Deflect attacks only work against one attack. If you want to defend against multiple attacks, then you should choose the Dodge Action or specifically Patient Defense. For the most part you should be okay with reducing the damage and not taking many hits due to your AC as a Monk (and even less as a Shadow Monk)

It's a single damage instance. One hit on you, you block it and counter. Other hits - too bad, you've reacted already.

I get in fights with clerics Catholic and Pastafarian
Despite the rest of civilization having turned agrarian
