Do I need to roll an individual attack roll for every creature that failed a saving throw?

Hello to everyone:

I'd like to ask something and I'd like to know the "official" answer.

So the question is as follows:

I'm a DM and a player uses Thunderwave against 4 goblins. Let's say none of them pass the saving throw.

Do I need to roll 4 different damage rolls with 2d8 each, or do I need to make just one damage roll and apply the result to all the goblins?

Thunderwave doesn't use any attack rolls at all, but I think what you mean is "damage roll", not "attack roll".

In which case, you only roll one damage roll for all the affected creatures.

(An "attack roll" is a d20 Test you roll to determine whether an attack hits. A "damage roll" is a roll that determines how much damage something does, which might use various different types of dice.)
