Epic Boon Query

Hi all!

I've been playing for a few years now, I'd like to say I've become quite familiar with how the game works generally across 2014 and 2024, however with that said, I did stumble across something a little perplexing and was wondering if anyone could walk me through what may just be a result of inexperience!

I was working on a character sheet for a potential avenune a character of mine could take, which would've resulted in a complete respec. I removed the prior classes from the character, so that I could have a clean slate while maintaining my background and such. I put them at level 10 Paladin, Oath of Redemption, and while working through the feats, traits, and other options, I noticed I could select a boon at level 8.

Now, I was under the impression boons were something that became available to you at level 19, but my level 10 Paladin has boon of Fortitude. None of the groups I've had the pleasure of being a part of have reached double digit levels, so I don't know how classes open up at later levels, and I could just be googling for the wrong information, the answer could be in bold text in the DMG and I could simply just be missing it.

If anyone would be kind enough to catch me up/ loop me in on how boons function, I'd be eternally grateful! One thing I do appreciate about D&D is how passionate the community is!

Boon of Fortitude has a prerequisite of level 19+, so you should not be able to take it as a level 10 character.

If D&D Beyond is letting you select it, it's possible you've turned off Feat Prerequisites on the Home tab, or that you've actually selected a homebrew feat with the same name that doesn't have a prerequisite.
