Yes. You can use it on literally any die rolled for any purpose. The only restriction is that it only applies to dice you roll, and not things like saving throws enemies roll against your spells.
Some of the weirder things you can use it on include, but are not limited to:
Wild Magic Surge table rolls
The d6 roll to see whether a Mirror Image duplicate takes a hit for you
There's actually a trend throughout the 5.5e rules of a few things that were previously specified as being randomly determined by drawing cards or flipping coins now being specified as die rolls instead, probably to give you more chances to use this.
interesting I had not thought about it before, but I think when I DM if a player ever used wish like that I'd roll as the DM as its more of a does fate, the universe let you keep wish going than a person using a skill or something. So no heroic inspiration on wish at my table. Though why anyone would take that risk even with heroic inspiration I do not know, the core duplicate any 8th level spell feature is so good on its own and the vague okay its time for me to genie wish your wish into oblivion result is not worth it.

I've always thought a more fun way to handle the potential loss of Wish is to not even roll the 33% chance until the next time they try to cast it anyway.
Also the die on certain Magic Items to determine if using the last charge destroys them :)
In that vein, some monster stat blocks have abilities where after they're used, you roll a "recharge" die to determine whether the ability can be used again. If you're rolling that die for some reason — perhaps you're using that stat block as yourself via something like Polymorph — you could use Heroic Inspiration on that too.

Hi there, Midgardians!
So my question is: can a player spend their Heroic Inspiration in a Death save roll?
Thanks in advance.
Yes.
From the glossary:
It's not restricted to d20 tests, or even to rolling d20s. If you wanna reroll one die out of a damage roll, that's legit.
Death saves are totally within its mandate.

Thank you very much, guys! ❤️
I should mention that you have to reroll both dice when you're rerolling a d100, because it's really one die.
Just to add the Wish case: Interaction between Heroic Inspiration and Percentage Chances
Technically, you can even use heroic inspiration when rolling to gain HP on level up, though I would personally house rule against that.
