I've cast (and had players cast) Light, Darkness, Daylight on something fixed to the inside of the bottom of a scroll case. You can then open the other end, and have a flashlight. (Or a darklight?)
The Daylight or Darkness spells are interesting to me because they use Sphere for a fixed point, and Emanation for a movable point, which I think is one of the intents behind those Area of Effect types.
The daylight spell says:
If I cast it on a stone/pebble, then can I carry that stone around with me?
Does the stone/pebble have to be laying around or can I carry one around for this purpose?
If I can carry it, can I place it in a mesh type pocket on my pants?
Yes.
Technically you'd have to put it down to cast the spell on it, but you can be carrying it before and/or after.
I don't see why not.
