I'm attempting to use XGE's "Magic Items Awarded by Rarity" to see where my party is at, magic-item-wise, but I don't know how to classify Minor and Major Homebrew Items. Is there some general guideline to help determine which is which?
"In that book, the minor items are those listed on Magic Item Tables A through E, and the major items are on Magic Item Tables F through I."
Minor items tend to be consumable, or help with inventory, or cast cantrip spells, like Light, and are never attuned.
Major items tend to provide static combat bonuses and damage buffs, or have charges, and require attunement.
Thanks for this explanation. I had a feeling there was a pattern of use for Minor items vs. Major Items. Your explanation makes complete sense to me. This will help me categorize my Homebrew items accordingly.
Thanks! :D
