Can anyone give me a list of the new race and class options in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide? I only ever run custom world games, so I'm not really interested in the lore, except for inspiration. I'm considering buying, but there isnt a store nearby that sells them, and I'd like a quick run through before grabbing it, if possible.
There aren't any new races in SCAG but there are some flavor/variant type options for a few races like elves and tieflings. For classes barbarians get path of the battle rager, clerics get arcana domain, fighters purple dragon knight, monks way of long death and way of sun soul, paladins oath of the crown, rogue get mastermind and swashbuckler, sorcerers get storm sorcerer, warlocks have the undying, and wizards get bladesinger. There are also a number of new backgrounds as well. Good stuff overall, always great to have more options IMO.
Yeah its pretty good and if you enjoy reading what's essentially a fantasy travelogue it's especially good, it doesn't have a huge number of options, but the ones that are there are essential (the spell/melee cantrips, Bladesinger, Swashbuckler and imo, Tiefling/Half-Elf Variants, the rest is gravy)
DM in the kobold fight club "Yes i know this is insane, but my usual players are murderhobos." Birdman in adventures in faerun "Flapping wings" (telepathy) "The enemies are overwhelming us, i'll go break their minds." Irthos Bladesinger in trouble in timberbottom (DED) (All PbP)

Thanks for any info you can give!

Thanks! I've been getting a lot of mixed opinions about it. I'll be sure to grab it then!

Tiefling variant, half-elf with the elf's powers, Duergar, Snuverblin subraces, snurverblin's magic as a feat, ghostwise halfings.
I think the ghostwise are interesting, since they have innate telepathy.

SCAG has probably been my second favorite 5e book released so far (after Volo's Guide)
A few of those new classes alone are worth it.
