Bracers of Defense say that they give you a +2 bonus to your AC if you’re not wearing armor or using a shield. Do they work with natural armor though? Or is natural armor considered wearing armor where Bracers of Defense are concerned? I can see both sides of that argument.
I don't believe you wear Natural Armor, so I would say yes they do. Bracers of Defense work with Unarmored Defense, Natural Armor, and some other things as well. All involve AC that is independent of wearing Armor (except Shields in this case).
Allow me to put it this way. You can have only one thing that sets your base AC, whether Unarmored Defense, Natural Armor, Robe of the Archmagi, or an actual Armor set, but you can have multiple things that add to AC. The only restriction with Bracers of Defense is Armor and Shields. If you aren't wearing Armor, and not using a Shield, it works.
No. Natural armor doesn’t fit into the categories of light, medium, and heavy armor, and when you have it, it isn’t considered to be an armor you’re wearing.
