So I've gotten the opportunity to grab a feat. And I really want find familiar and I mostly want eldritch blast but I need a wizard cantrip for it to work. And then there is lucky. She is a small worshipper of Tymora. Not a fully worshipper but she counts Tymora among her friends. So lucky would be a clear choice but find familiar is a good spell and an additional cantrip is great! So what do you guys think?
I’d buy a Scroll of Find Familiar and take the Lucky feat. You’re primarily a melee fighter, correct? Eldritch Blast is great, but unless I’m mistaken I can’t see you using ranged attacks very often because your skills make you so good in melee. Being able to re-roll 3 rolls a day after seeing the original roll, even when you weren’t the one rolling the d20, is still better than Eldritch Blast for you would be.
Problem is that if I want to chance how it is I would have to buy the scroll and the materials for it. But would that work? If I bought such as spell scroll and as a bard used it? I haven't found stuff about casting scrolls from different classes in the DMG, but then again, I didn't do so well on my investigation check. ^^
You can’t cast scrolls of things that aren’t on your spell list. As a bard, you won’t be able to understand what the scroll says. So.... it depends on what your party is and what you really want. Your team need someone to scout or you/teammates keep missing attacks? Get a familiar to help with magic intimate, and 2 cantrips! I don’t know what the lucky feat does, but I hear it’s broken.
At 10th level you’ll get Magical Secrets anyway. You’re correct, I found the rule that says you can’t cast from a spell scroll if it’s not on your spell list.

It gives you a cantrip and a 1st level spell from a spell list of your choice, but they have to be from the same spell list. So if I want find familiar it has to be from the wizard spell list. I can't take eldritch blast and find familiar. It's not outright broken I'd say. You can do some cool shit with it but it's not outright "crazy" broken. I have a homebrew rule however that a wizard cannot, it is arcane(ly) imprinted into a wizard's heart that he cannot heal unless he multiclasses into a class that has cure wounds or similar. Because I have a thing with that arcane magic cannot heal without any other effect happining. So life transferance is cool, but else you cannot heal. So that is one way to balance it out. Plus that it still uses the spellcasting ability modifier that the class does. So if you have a -2 wisdom and take cure wounds, you have -2 healing.
The challenge with Magic Initiate is it uses the ability score of the class that the spells are from for attack rolls and saving throws. Magical Secrets uses your Charisma score for attack rolls and saving throws, even if you pick a small that’s only on the Wizard spell list. I’m playing a Warlock with Magic Initiate (Wizard) right now and I picked spells that don’t have attack rolls or saving throws for his “Wizard” spells.
Magical secrets is aimed towards counterspell and bigby's hand probably. Counterspell is a sure, but the hand.. meh. Maybe I find something better.
You'll probably get more fun and utility out of a familiar than you would out of Bigby's Hand. Here's the thing about Bigby's Hand... it consumes your Bonus Action each round to use it. With Find Familiar you can use it for spying, social situations, to provide you with access to unique senses, and in combat you could use them to perform the Help Action and give yourself advantage (I mean, until someone kicks them and they disappear in a puff of smoke, but it only costs 10gp to get them back)
