Out of the two "humanoid dragon" races, which is generally considered the better one? I know dragonborn are considered underpowered relative to the other PHB races, and that Kobolds suffer from having the worst stat bonuses of any race (+2/-2 instead of +2/+1 like most races) and sunlight sensitivity...
But what's generally more useful? The dragonborn's tiny list of features (1/sr breath weapon + element resistence), or the kobold's larger but somewhat self-sabotaging set (1/sr "grovel" distraction + pack tactics + 60ft darkvision, offset by sunlight sensitivity)?
I was looking at races for a build I was creating and the build was flexible enough that pretty much any race would work, it would just give it different flavor. Kobold really punishes strength builds (paladin or barbarian multiclass builds are rough on anything except for amazing random rolls) but everything else is open. Dragonborns make excellent paladins and barbarians, particularly since constitution bumps unarmored defense and the breath weapon save. Having a resistance to a type of magic damage is quite strong particularly if you mix it with other resistances. But it all depends on what you want to do and whether you want to work to the strengths of the race or against it's weaknesses for more role play flavor.

Depends on a lot of things (class, party composition, adventure setting).
I'd say they are about equal.
