For example: If a sorcerer casts Chromatic Orb, the 50gp diamond is not consumed. If they would scribe a scroll of Chromatic Orb, would the diamond be consumed for the creation of the scroll or does it only need to be at hand for a replication of the spell?
I would say no. Unless the component specifically gets consumed if a regular casting of a spell, making a spell scroll would not consume the component.
listed components that would be consumed during regular casting would be, for example Awaken requires an agate worth 1,000 gp which is consumed on casting would need to be provided for scroll creation, but not later scroll use.
