Say a wildshaped druid is fighting a wraith and fails the saving throw against having her hitpoint max reduced:
-If this doesn't reduce the druid to 0 hitpoints, does the HP reduction carry over to the druid's true form? I assume not, since the damage itself doesn't carry over.
-If the wildshape's HP max is reduced to 0 by this effect, does the druid just die, or would she revert back to human form as with normal damage? The rules on this say "The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0."

No, an effect that causes max HP reduction does not carry over between Druid & Wild Shape in either direction. That's not to say that Wild Shape clears HP reduction... if your Druid's natural body is afflicted by a reduction to HP, it will not affect a Wild Shape, but it will still be present on the Druid after returning back to normal form.

Unfortunately, yes. You die If your max HP is reduced to 0 while in Wild Shape.
You don't know what fear is until you've witnessed a drunk bird divebombing you while carrying a screaming Kobold throwing fire anywhere and everywhere.
