That sounds within reason... Although reading through the Wish Spell, make sure that wording is very specific. Saying "I wish to draw X" might force your character to start drawing cards until they get to X. Either way, it seems like this fits the conditions of the Wish spell which weakens you for attempting to use the Wish spell outside of the listed parameters, and has the potential for catastrophic failure. Although at that point, you might as well just cast the wish spell to get the effect you were hoping for in the first place. You can also use the Wish Spell to undo one action, so it might be smarter to just have one player draw a card, then if the result is bad have the character with Wish undo the draw, then just try again the next day until you get what you want.

Undoing an action via Wish is not duplicating an 8th level or lower spell. At best, it carries exactly the same risks as just using Wish to pull a specific card. At worst, you could suffer all of the consequences of Wish with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Oh, is that how it works? I had always interpreted it as any spell plus the specific actions it described could be done without drawback. That does make sense, though... creating a 25,000 GP object for free every day would be kind of a stretch...
The player is very specific. States that he wishes the 1st card that he draws from this deck be "xxx" card. Then goes on to use the 2nd wish in the ring.....I wish the 2nd card that I draw be the"xxx" card. ....and continues in this fashion. RAW I, as DM, can't find the flaw....but don't want to overlook anything mechanical.

So he is using a ring of three wishes to cast multiple wishes to draw specific cards in a row?
Casting the spell from an item still has the negative consequences if the wish is anything other than a level 8 or lower spell. So he has to roll percentile to see if he can even use the remaining wishes, then have his STR dropped to 3, and take 9d10 for each additional wish he casts that day (if even able).

A player with thecWish spell wished on what card he would draw. Does this work?

There aren't many cards better than a wish spell (one of the best cards grants wishes.)
