Im working on traps i'd like to have in my next campaign i'm running and one of them will be collapsing structures. I would like tips on how to calculate damage from a building falling on PCs should they fail the system i'm implementing. When ever they trigger the trap the entire party rolls 5 times with a dex save of DC15. They must succeed 3/5 their group rolls or take damage. Now i know for most if a building falls it should be an Auto Death but im not so cold hearted and like to give them a chance to survive. Any tips would be appreciated!
Depend on the building. I would say 2d10+2d10/extra level in the building.
There's a damage severity chart on p121 of the DMG, that you should also be able to find on your DM screen. That's always a good basis to evaluate trap damage.

Thank you for a page reference. I really need to reread the DMG. Havnt really looked through it since i got it.
Yeah I'm not extremely familiar with the DMG either, but I remembered this table from my DM screen ;)
I must say, every time I've had to dive into the DMG, I've found it very well-written, and extremely informative, both for lore and game mechanics. It's just a really good book, and it definitely deserves a read.
