Okay, so as you all know, "placing the haversack inside an extradimensional space ... opens a gate to the Astral Plane," and "any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it."
Since it specifies that not everything -- merely "any creature" -- is pulled in, I'm just wondering if all items being worn, carried, held, etc. by said creature would be pulled in with it, or if anything non-creature-esque and all items or creature portions outside of the 10' radius remain behind (potentially ewwww).
I need to know for ... reasons ... uhhh, lawful good reasons ... yeah, that's it. *evil laugh...or at least chaotic good laugh*
I can certainly imagine that some planar travel doesn't imply bringing your earthly objects along with you (Banishment, for example), but moving through gates (or, being pulled through gates) is most analogous to walking through a door and probably brings objects along as normal. The rules for shoving a creature don't mention moving their clothing or equipment either, just the creature, but surely we aren't shoving goblins right out of their loincloths? :(
Yeah, I think when you move, all your stuff goes with you. Now, if you’d dropped your sword just before and it isn’t technically on you anymore, it would stay behind. As for something only partly in the 10 foot radius, I think it like a vacuum, not a wall that would slice you in half. Could be they are caught, could be not, maybe give them a DEX save to see if they are sucked in or not.

As for the DEX challenge, the description seems to be pretty clear that there are no ifs, ands, or buts about the fact that you have a one-way trip to the Astral Plane. Do not pass Go, do not collect 200 gold pieces.
I meant if it was a size large or bigger creature where only part of it was within the 10 foot radius to give them a chance to not get sucked in. But I think you’re probably ok with saying if any part of them is close enough, all of them goes.

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
Yikes no! That would definitely qualify as a chaotic evil reason!

I'm going with carried items and all body parts get pulled along with you.

Why am I hearing “Immigrant Song” when I picture large or bigger creatures?
