So I've decided to have some fun with my players with a boggle. And then I realized that one of them has a bag of holding. If the Boggle got ahold of the bag, 1) would it be able to open a dimensional rift in the opening of the sack (this could apply to any sack actually not just a bag of holding I guess depending on how you want to define "frame") and 2) if the boggle did try to dimensional rift away from the party by opening one up in the opening of the bag of holding, would this be equivalent to opening up a portable hole inside the bag, or would the rift be just at the mouth of the bag and therefore not ripping through the planes?
I really like the idea of a boggle (or some other fey) going into a bag and coming out across the room. I don't know whether it's technically able to do so, though.

Yeah that part of it gets into the definition of a frame. According to Volos the space between bars on a cage could be used for the dimensional rift and I've seen in various places stated that the opening between the legs of a medium creature can also work. So the question would be would the mouth of a bag be "solid" enough to count?
The closest I've seen to anything like that is the leg thing. But if they could do it with a bag, suddenly an annoyance becomes a major issue with a bag of holding involved. And that could be all sorts of sadistic fun for a DM hahahaha
I would say that the opening of a bag or similar objects do not qualify as frame.
But, if it is possible ofr the Boggle to get inside the Bag of Holding, a gate to the Astral Plane is not formed, since in the item description it says it requires to be another similar item.

Thanks!
