Looking through character creation with the intent of making an Eladrin Bladesinger. I've just noticed that The Eladrin (Variant) does have Elf Weapon Training, however the Eladrin (MToF) does not. Are the Eladrin from MToF considered to be a completely different form of Eladrin with no weapon training or is there something else I missed?
(I know that Bladesingers do get Training in Song and War but that was intentionally going for a Rapier, but that would kill any chance of wanting a Moonblade late game as it's a longsword.)

The Eladrin (Variant) are from the DMG and basically considered old at this point. The Eladrin from MoTF are newer.
As for Elf Weapon Training - the new Eladrin have effects depending on their season added to their Fey Step instead.

The variant eladrin from DMG was based on High Elf (it is an example of how to homebrew a race).
The MToF eladrin are more their own thing.
The Eladrin Variant was just an example of how someone would homebrew a subrace. Eladrin from MToF are the "official" reccomended version
Glad nothing has changed in 15 months.
