My son and i are trying to figure out the correct answer to the following question.
If you have an anti magic field in between 2 wizards and 1 of the wizards casts says magic missile or scorching ray at the other wizard...will it travel through the anti magic field and hit the other wizard or does it get stopped in the anti magic field? If it stops what happens to the spell itself? is it lost or does it go off once anti magic field is dropped?
It would appear that spells can be cast through the field. They are just ineffective against targets inside the field. As the magic missile passes through the field, it loses its effectiveness--that is, it is suppressed--but it is not destroyed so presumably it would resume its effectiveness once it pops out the other side of the field.
In the specific case of Magic Missile, I'd assume that, given it's auto-hit nature, it would simply swerve around the antimagic field, as opposed to entering it.

"Not all those who wander are lost"
