Does the Spell Resistance of a 14th level Abjurationist stack with other resistance?
Example: Let's say my abjurationist is resistant to Poison damage. He gets hit by a Poison Spray and fails the save. Damage roll is 24. But he's also resistant to damage from spells. Does the damage get quartered here? My thought is yes, and my reasoning is, first the damage total is calculated by the dice. It's halved in a global sense because it's damage from a spell. Then the specific type of damage is halved because of specific resistance to type.
Nope, Damage is resolved by the following per the Core Rules: ANY immunity, any addition or subtraction to damage, ONE relevant Resistance, ONE relevant vulnerability.
Multiple instances of resistance or vulnerability that affect the same damage type count as only one instance. For example, if a creature has resistance to fire damage as well as resistance to all nonmagical damage, the damage of a nonmagical fire is reduced by half against the creature, not reduced by three-quarters.
No. Resistances don't stack. You either are resistant or you're not.
You resist the damage because it's a spell and so the fact that it's also poison damage is irrelevant.

Note that effects that specifically say they reduce damage by half (or other similar wording) will stack with Resistance.
For example, a Bloodhunter who specializes in the Ghostslayer Order at 3rd level that also has resistance to Radiant Damage from another source will only take 1/4 damage from Radiant, because Ghostslayer reduces Radiant damage by half. It does not grant Resistance, so it does stack with Resistance.

While the initial comment is true - if it says half damage instead of resistance then yes it will likely work together - but the rest seems to be wrong. The updated Blood Hunter doesn't say that anywhere.

Ah, so some of the updates already went out on Bloodhunter, then. Ghostslayer's Rite of Dawn has been completely reworked.

This is the dumbest shit I have ever seen. Right up there with the healer not being able to cast both Revivify and Healing Word in the same turn, or being seen while invisible making it so that you still get adv on your attacks.
Good thing the invisibility rule for updated in the 2024 update, maybe they've also updated this resistance stupidity as well. Never seen anyone actually use resistances like this.

Unfortunately no. Quote from RAW:

Edit: Was beaten to it.

The time when damage is quartered is when you make a save for half damage and have resistance.
