I'm still learning some of the subtleties of the many classes, especially casters, but there is a lot.
So, I figured I'd straight up ask the internet directly.
Is there a game mechanic or class feature that would benefit from the player taking a vow to never speak? I can think of many detriments, sure, like vocal spellcasting in general or yelling things to comrades. But is there an Oath I can take as a Paladin, a pact with a god/patron as a Cleric/Warlock, or even a druidic circle with something there to make the vow into a boon?
Nope, it's not a thing. There's nothing in the current set of rules that would make personal silence beneficial in any way. No caster class can get by without Verbal spell components. A Rogue, Fighter, Barbarian or Monk could function well enough in combat, but would obviously suffer social and party cohesion difficulties.
That being said, have a chat with your DM and maybe you can come up with a fun idea and some homebrew rules. There's been a bit of chat on these forums for how a mute character might play, but it usually needs homebrew rules to allow them to cast spells with some non-verbal noise. I'd also make sure the other players are into it - it'll impact their game if you expect them to do all your talking for you and manage their characters' relationships with your silent character.
Weirdly enough, class features and character options do not cripple the character in anyway. Can't imagine what they were thinking by giving players all that freedom without forcing characteristics on them.
No, there isn't any sort of class feature that benefits from a vow of silence. I feel this would be something along the lines of an Ideal, Bond, or Flaw. Which means that it might help you gain Inspiration. That's about the only mechanical benefit I could see form this.

Canto alla vita alla sua bellezza ad ogni sua ferita ogni sua carezza!
I sing to life and to its tragic beauty To pain and to strife, but all that dances through me The rise and the fall, I've lived through it all!

Definitely flaw. It is something that hinders being an adventurer.
Is this worth revisiting with the expansion of languages that now include Sign Language? Not to mention telepathic has been around for quite some time as well. I think it could add a dynamic of character RP. A Vow of silent wouldn’t just include verbal but also a requirement to be silent in every aspect.
