Long story short; I'm attempting to create a Faerie pc and I don't understand how part of the Faerie's "Diminutive Build" trait works. Specifically I'm confused on the "While wearing armor that grants you a bonus to your AC equal to your Dexterity Modifier, you my double the bonus granted by your Dexterity Modifier."
Lets say my Dex is 18, so Dex mod of 4, is this saying that if I wear armor that gives me 4AC+dex mod I can double the dex mod bonus? Or is it saying that since unarmored it's 10+dex mod that if I wear armor that gives me 10+dex mod I can double the dex mod bonus?
There is no "faerie" race. It sounds like you're using some homebrew thing, so the question would be better posed in the homebrew forum, with a link to whatever source you're using.
That said, I'll try to give my best guess at a reasonable answer. If you've quoted the full, exact text of the feature, it seems straightforward:
Are you wearing armor? If yes, proceed.
Does your armor let you add your Dexterity modifier? If yes, double your Dexterity modifier.
Nothing else about your AC calculation is changed. If it's leather armor, instead of 11 + Dex mod, it's 11 + 2 * Dex mod. If it's studded leather, instead of 12 + Dex mod, it's 12 + 2 * Dex mod.
Interestingly, the way it's worded means that if you're wearing medium armor and your Dex mod is greater that +2, you get no benefit, but if your Dex mod is +2 or less, you do, which is probably not intended.

I can't find any info on this anywhere.

Yeah, I just noticed after posting it wasn't made by wizards. Sorry for posting in the wrong forum :/
But thanks for answering!
