I am starting to play a cleric tomorrow, and I was reading the spells that my arcana cleric always has prepared and it left me with a question. Arcanist's magic aura has the mask ability which states, "You change the way the target appears to spells and magical effects that detect creature types, such as a paladin's Divine Sense or the trigger of a symbol spell. You choose a creature type and other spells and magical effects treat the target as if it were a creature of that type or of that alignment."
Does this mean that I can use the mask ability on an enemy, have them be designated a fey, and then use the arcana channel divinity? The arcana channel divinity says "As an action, you present your holy symbol, and one celestial, elemental, fey, or fiend that can see and hear you and is within 30 ft. must make a WIS saving throw (DC 14). If it fails, it is turned for 1 minute or until it takes any damage. A turned creature must spend its turns moving away from you, can't take reactions, and can only Dash or Dodge if it can't move. Creatures that fail can instead be banished based on your cleric level: [5th] CR 1/2 or lower, [8th] CR 1 or lower, [11th] CR 2 or lower, [14th] CR 3 or lower, [17th] CR 4 or lower."
Hey everyone,

It changes the DETECTION of the creature, not the immunity of the creature. It's a change in appearance, not reality./
In other words, you can make a fey look (to magical detection) as a humanoid, but that will not make them susceptible to charm.
Similarly you can make a human look like a fey (to magical detection), but it will not make them susceptible to Channel Divinity.
Ah ok thankyou for the clarification I appreciate it. :)
