I do not see any reason why you could not as long as the spell meets all of the other requirements which invisibility does not because you can target additional creatures by casting at a higher level. There is a good discussion on meta magic specifically twining spells on one of the episodes of dragon talk.
Me too, I would ask to the SA. But for the way I see sorcerer, I'd say no. They are able to do metamagic because their spells are kind of an inner ability. A spell from another source, like the ring of storing, does not come from the inner power of the sorcerer.
