I had come up with the idea to useProsthetic Limb as wings but the only I think would work as it would be the legendary energy ones I was wondering if there would be a better option and what its flying speed would be? And this also extands to like claws/drills for digging, webbed fingers or feet for swimming and possible gills to underwater.
Since this is the rules and mechanics forum, I’ll provide the RAW answer, which is that its flying speed would be whatever yours was before you lost the wing(s) you’re replacing with the prosthetic. A prosthetic limb can’t be used to gain some ability you never had to begin with. An aaracokra can 100% have magical clockwork wings that let them fly, but a human cannot, at least not with a prosthetic limb.
If you’re not replacing wings you have as a racial feature, look at winged boots. They can easily be reskinned as some kind of harness with wings rather than boots.
Agreed, it limits itself a couple times to “replacing” a limb that was actually “lost”, not just relocating the limb for whoever wants one.
now, could an Aaracokra Reincarnated or polymorphed as a dwarf claim that they have “lost” their wings? Hmmm.
I would think not, since the spell forms a completely new body. Dwarven physiology doesn't have wings, or any of the internal mechanisms to support their use. Their bones are likely more dense than the average creature, and they tend to be of a stockier build and thus simply weigh more. Further, their skeletons would not be arranged properly for wing bones to connect anywhere, nor would they have the musculature or nerve infrastructure to control them.
You'd have to use the phrase "because magic" pretty liberally to make that work. Which some people might be fine with, but others would definitely not.

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
