What would happen if I made a d&d character that was blind? Would I give it blindsight?

I think that if you could only "see" 10 ft then your enemies will quickly notice your having trouble seeing them at distance.

A blind fighter will quickly be singled out and attacked. From range if possible.

do blindsight with range of 20-30ft but blind beyond that radius, as it symbolizes that you have accustomed to being blind and you use your other senses
