Greetings fellow adventurers! Today, I come seeking guidance on the mechanics of Bane and Bless in regards to them being cast by two or more clerics/spellcasters with access to the cleric spell list.
So, let's say in a party with two clerics, they both decide to target a group of enemies with bane (for the sake of the example let's assume they all fail their CHA saves).
Now, would this mean that each enemy would take a 2d4 penalty to all their attack/saving throws instead of a single d4? And, on the opposite end, would a party being blessed by two clerics get 2d4 to their attack/saving throws as well?
Thanks in advance for your insight, and may the chests you find be forever bereft of tongues and teeth.
The effects of different spells add together while the durations of those spells overlap. The effects of the same spell cast multiple times don't combine, however. Instead, the most potent effect — such as the highest bonus — from those castings applies while their durations overlap, or the most recent effect applies if the castings are equally potent and their durations overlap.
For example, if two clerics cast bless on the same target, that character gains the spell's benefit only once; he or she doesn't get to roll two bonus dice.
Sorry M4, only the most powerful or the most recent bane would take effect. Multiple effects with the same name don't stack, sadly. So no, only a 1d4 added or subtracted

Your best use in situations like this is for 1 cleric to bane the enemies while the other cleric blesses the hero's.
Can bless and a knight's Leadership die stack?

Yes, as long as the effects have different names.
