An NPC I'm making for an upcoming game. One piece of context: Almonte is a city that is pretty much fantasy New York, and it's in a continent called Purpleburrow.
Name: Ivonar Lockland Nicknames: Ivon, Ivy Race: Human Class: Rogue (subclass: "talented") Background: "Don't worry about it"
Ivonar Lockland is a freelance adventurer who takes any job he thinks he could probably do. Of course, he never does anything the simple way. He has a special little trick for getting around most problems. You see, because of a gift he received from the Fey, he can NEVER DIE!! ...kinda. He can actually just regenerate after most injuries, but close enough, right? Makes him great trap bait.
He stretches this ability of his as far as he possibly can. For example, He doesn't want to pay rent, so he chose his main method of shelter and travel: Gussy the Giant Toad. Turns out regeneration powers are a good counter to stomach acid.
He loves the city and he has an obsession with this new invention called a "T-shirt", his favorite one declaring "Purpleburrow is my City". He's usually strolling the streets of Almonte at night while doing adventuring work during the day, most of which is dungeon delving or frog-related infiltration. Though he enjoys company, dinner dates aren’t much his thing. Toad bellies don't really stoke your apetite. He's just fine with his Juice anyways
In conclusion, this was my attempt to make a secret Vampire character. I feel a lot of the time they're presented in obvious ways and I thought it would be neat to try and make one who's a suprise and a character in their own right. We'll see how successful that is! If you have questions about him, like how he lives and keeps his secret, ask me! I like talking about my characters and I'd like to have ideas of what kind of questions this character raises and how I should answer them.

If your DM defends the DM vs Players mindset get outta there fast. My advice as someone with a bad history with this game o7 it gets better.
I love 5e monster & planar lore almost as much as I love complaining about it
This is really cool! I like how fun the character is. I had no idea he was a vampire until I read your last paragraph. It made me go back through the other parts going, oooooohhhhhhhh.
