Wildemount has multiple threads and areas with threads related to various Yuan-ti tribes.
In my Wildemount AU, a visit to Urukayxl by a Revelry ship, after the Critical Role campaign 2 events, lead to a Pureblood Yuan-ti, Olsihla, and two of her clutch brothers, Zhetzah. Toztehia, malisons, both, joining the crew.
Aside: The two Malisons are humanoid in shape, tall with athletic builds and a wide variety of noticeable serpentine features. Neither has a tail. Both have snakelike heads, scales covering their bodies and black talons. They understand common and draconic, to a degree. Like Olsihla, the majority of their knowledge is from books and psionic telepathy. They read and write the languages well, but lack understanding of most social or cultural nuance. They learn quickly though.
Through many adventures, Olsihla and the ship captain, Wynkalyn end up starting a trading company, uniting the Yuan-ti tribes of Urukayxl, Sepesca, Mordant Isle and a small and growing village of Zehir Kor'inth north of Urzin in Xhorhas. They found the isolation and power caste system was what was dwindling their population and strength. Their are now Orc Pureblood Yuan-ti as well as Elven Malison and some variations with goblinoid parentage.
The players start in a realm where this history is known in some part to them for some campaign plot reason.
Zehir Kor'inth - The clocked one (or at least his people) are once again rising.
Dorbalec woke slowly. She was still groggy from the effects that yesterday evening’s travel by portal had on her.
Thankfully, Kress had a similar reaction. Many do, she was told. It was no show of weakness.
She huffed running her hands through her upper torso fur working out the matting from a too deep sleep. It was thick dark copper (reddish-brown). Rubbing her light copper eyes, she noticed the skin on her face, the same hue as her fur, was getting scruffy. She would need to shave soon.
"What about the archery?", Dorbalec asked. It really was why she was here though she also wanted to see this mobile city. The horizonback tortoise was known to be gigantic. She had to see it for herself.
"The start of the tournament is three days still. Better early than late.", Kress' tone on the last phrase clearly revealed his annoyance. Yet, she knew neither of them would ever comment on it to the elders.
Finishing the last of her preparations, she opened the door.
Kress didn't even have his boots or a shirt on. His front torso scales were gleaming. The jaws of his cobra-like muzzle parted in what she knew was a Yuan-ti Malison grin.
"What? Not wearing full armor or your bow to break-fast?", he chuckled.
"I wore less than this when working the forge. Besides, the elder hosting us said we are at home and safe.", Kress shrugged. Then he added, "You don't want to wear your boots to the kitchen. You will offend the elder."
"Ahr!", She growled as she started unlacing and yanking her boots off. She picked them up and took a deep breath. "What else do I need to think of?", she finished calmly.
"Act as you are at Gretru's hut.", Kress said, nodding in approval. He then shrugged, "You'll likely get looks for your Melora amulet or for waring it with our lord's amulet. You've heard those before in Sepesca."
"Yeah", she sighed, "I don't wear either in the Lushgut coven. They're more zealous for the Wild Mother than anyone in the Vinewreathed Enclave, even Septa."
"I don't understand how any of our kind would look to the wild mother as the coven does. Though, I understand many Yuan-ti here follow both Zehir and their Luxon.", Kress added while they descended the stairs.
"I do understand it though. I will not take my boots into the kitchen. I trust our elders word of safe refuge. No one will take or damage my property wherever I leave it in this place. I would like not to offend our host with or by my own ignorance.", Dorbalec interrupted also in draconic.
A velveteen chuckle came from the kitchen as their host slithered into the hall. Elegant beaded and plated braids cascaded from their crown. They moved with liquid grace on their long tail. "You both do Sepesca a credit. My daughter is familiar with a few local languages and will be your primary guide." The elder's draconic was exquisite.
"Hmm, Enough with formalities. Leave your boots and blades by the door next to the other guests' gear and join us.", the hostess said, ushering the three into the kitchen to a long table.

"What are you doing? The sun is already sneaking into the sky.", Kress' hissing draconic came from the other side of the small room door.
"Your accent is horrible. You do know that, right?", the hobgoblin replied in her own choppy guttural variant of the same tongue.
She could hear Kress' hissing chuckle as she began pulling on a tunic.
"Come on. We'll clean up, eat, and head for Urzin. I want to see those tortoises.", Kress said, rapping the door jam.
"What about the archery?", Dorbalec asked. It really was why she was here though she also wanted to see this mobile city. The horizonback tortoise was known to be gigantic. She had to see it for herself.

"You, you're not even dressed!", Dorbalec sputtered, frustrated at feeling called out for staying too long in bed by one clearly bearly up.
"I wore less than this when working the forge. Besides, the elder hosting us said we are at home and safe.", Kress shrugged. Then he added, "You don't want to wear your boots to the kitchen. You will offend the elder."

"Your not taking those into the kitchen.", a female Yuan-ti Pureblood says in her native tongue as they turn in the haul.
Kress stops Dorbalec and replies in draconic, "Our friend does not speak father's tongue, cousin."
"I do understand it though. I will not take my boots into the kitchen. I trust our elders word of safe refuge. No one will take or damage my property wherever I leave it in this place. I would like not to offend our host with or by my own ignorance.", Dorbalec interrupted also in draconic.

Dorbalec immediately greeted them with a formal bow. "Mistress. Your gracious compliment will not prove vain."
