I'm currently writing a story/book about my D&D character, Star. Here's what I got so far:
Introduction: The End of the Beginning
There it was. The fire sizzling if front of their eyes. The burning village. No one was left, no one remained. Only the drow that caused all of this and the skeletons of the fallen. It was quiet. The drow fell to their knees and cried as the fire slowly went out, leaving the village in ruins. It was once so lively, filled with color. Now, it is only ash and bones, rock and gravel.
The drow sat under a tree with a lyre, playing the song once sang by their mother. The notes drifted in the wind, carrying over the mountains and river. “Never forget the beauty in the water. Never forget the beauty in your eyes,” they sang, shedding a tear. “Never forget the stars in the sky, as they are as magical and fantastical as your eye.” They continued, finishing the song with the note D. Suddenly, a noise. A rustling in the bushes made them jump suddenly. A small rat came out of the bush, and was immediately snatched up by a bird. It wasn’t unusual to the drow. It was just nature, sadly.
The drow continued walking, coming across a cliff in the distance with the view going for miles without end. They slowly climbed up and looked around for signs of people or open areas to camp out in, but that’s when they spot it. A large village. No. A city with life buzzing in the streets. The drow calculated the distance. “Four and a half miles from that tree below.” They slid down the cliff and began making their way North, passing the trees and animals. Dodging the vines and bug nests.
It had been a little over 2 hours, but they made it. The gates were iron and the walls of stone bricks that went 50 feet high. Two guards, one a half-orc and the other a Tiefling, stopped the drow kindly and held their weapons low.
“Name, age, and home,” asked the Tiefling, her eyes glowing royal blue like a soft sapphire crystal.
“Uhm…” The drow hesitated, looking around and then at their hands. “Star Lunindera, age 15 and I do not have one.”
“And why are you here?” the Half-orc responded, looking hesitant. His purple skin and red eyes were shining in the sun.
The drow began to sweat, pulling at their collar. “I am looking for a friend, a-and was told they would be here,” they leaned back a bit.
“Understood,” said the Tiefling. “anyone is welcome in the city of Arconius!” she said, almost screaming with excitement.
Star sighed as the gate opened. They held their bag tight to their chest as they walked inside, almost getting stepped on by the citizens of the buzzing city. The gate closed shut behind Star, causing them to jump. People talking and animal calls made their head spin until the bell tower rang and most began going in their separate directions. It was getting late; the sun was going down. Suddenly, BAM! And Star was on the ground.
