I'm just here looking for suggestions for some backstory elements for my character, he's a noble fallen aasimar paladin named Asterion. He's only level 2 so I have yet to pick an oath, and both the choice of oath and other backstory elements are a complete mystery, I have no clue what to pick or who he is. I'm not super knowledgeable about dnd lore so I'm not sure what prerequisites there are for an aasimar's fall or much about how aasimar view their celestial lineage and how much that impacts them as a character, so I'm here looking for ideas or personal experiences if anyone has any feel free to share.
The character in itself can be from a tribe of Fallen Aasimar, it doesn't have to be looked at a certain light as where is a fallen in term of celestial is a bad thing. Remember Aasimar are only half angels and not only true angels as those are either archons or something stronger. It can impact them if you want it or not as they have not the care of the world. So it really depends, you can search the forgotten realms about lore on the Fallen Aasimar for more details. Since its lore it doesn't have to impact them at all. And for the Oaths pick what you like then draw the concept from there, whether it be Oathbreaker, Vengeance, or Redemption its really your choice. I find an Oath of Vengeance Fallen Aasimar Paladin quiet the cliche but pretty easily playable if your into that edge.

The good (and bad) news is that there is no established rules for these kinds of things. An aasimar is a half angel, as Lolths_bane mentioned, which you can use to flavor your character in a few different ways. At the end of the day, how you choose to view your celestial image is totally up to you!
As an example, I once played a fallen aasimar barbarian in an evil campaign: he had seen what Zariel did (fallen angel that now leads Archeron, the first layer of hell against demonic foes) and liked it. He basically decided to say screw you to the powers-that-be and left, pledging himself to Zariel. He was a super fun character to play with that kind of connection and backstory. Obviously, pretty different from the standard though.
How do *you* want to play them? Nice, friendly, happy? Broody, angry, dark? Somewhere in between? It can be easy to bend your Oath pick around your personality, then let the story unfold by itself after locking the rest in.
i was thinking that whichever oath i picked turned out to be some kind of inherited role from whatever being gave my aasimar his celestial blood kinda like a "family business" kinda thing, but i also dont know enough about celestials in dnd to really inform a thing like that. i appreciate the response btw thank you!

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
