Flammas rerum, originem omnium, digitis purpureis comprehendis, et cuncta quae in tuo tramite ingerant, terram coeloque in ignium exurens, o clara flamma in tenebris saltans, gehenna incendium omnia in cinerem prae omnibus redigens; praepotens, prae cunctis, atrox, flagrans, flagrans acriter, furentes flammas texere laqueum, hostemque ferocem constringe gehennam!
That looks like Latin. I am tired, so I won’t try to translate it right now.

O saw it was Latin too. My knowledge of the language is still in development well say so I just ran it through google translate.

"Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen" - 1 Timothy 1:17
Player 3: *recites an incantation for 15 seconds* DM: Your turn ended 9 seconds ago. Player 2 already finished a turn while you were rambling about. Enemy 3 is about to attack you.
Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.

And that's why combat incantations are short.😜
My players switched to a point system for magic a couple years ago, and we have expanded the set up since to meet the goals we had for things. We settled on an actions system, because we found that rounds was a bit too long, but actions allows us to still have the whole point: it should take longer than six seconds to cast a spell.
And the point in this case was to find a way to mimic the kind of casting that my piss poor google latin from earlier set up: long incantations from anime.
So in my games, your example actually happens all the time, lol.Flipside: once that spell is done, odds are pretty good that the fighters will be able to relax, lol.

Flames of creation, origin of all, with crimson fingers you grasp, and engulf all of that comes in your path, scorching the earth and heavens in firestorm, O bright flame dancing in darkness, infernal blaze reducing all to ashes, more than anything, powerful, more than anything, ruthless, burning brightly, blazing fiercely, May your raging flames weave a snare, and shackle my enemy in ferocious hellfire!
The original incantation.

This remind me of a short skit on YouTube. (Slight language warning, but seriously, it's nothing anyone hasn't heard prior.)
When the animation doesn't match the spell...🙃
I suppose that's somatic gibberish?🤔
