Has anyone else DnD-ified characters from existing works that you like? Post them here!
Two that I've made from Diana Wynne Jones's Chrestomanci series:
The Living Asheth: Aasimar sorcerer (Divine Soul). Chosen at birth to be the avatar of a goddess. Raised and doted on by priestesses in a temple that she can only leave once per year.
Was going to be sacrificed to the goddess at age 13, but escaped to another universe instead with the high priestess's help.
Angelica Petrocchi: Human sorcerer (Wild Magic). Part of a world-renowned family of wizard spellcrafters. Known as a disappointment to the family for never getting any spells right.
Chrestomanci and other archmages take interest in her to better understand her strong but uncontrollable powers.

Just a dysfunctional girl addicted to fantasy because I’m tired of living in reality

Mann Shorts (based in Florida) has been taking non-fantasy characters and turning them into D&D playable characters. Latest was Frasier Crane from the Cheers and Frasier series.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
Ooh, non-fantasy characters? Interesting. I know about this series from Tulok the Barbarian where he designs sheets for existing characters. I made this thread more for the backstories/concepts than the stats though.

Rendering Vat Hrodric, or Vat for short. An autognome escapee from the Rock of Bral who professes loudly to be the greatest gentleman burglar of them all. he took this to extremes when he made an Oath of Glory before Hecate herself during a chance encounter and now must find a way to steal the moon and stars themselves... or risk disappointing a god. he has more recently found himself running odd jobs for the "Chair," Chairman Takayanagi, owner of the secret spelljammer galleon the Phlogiston Express Ship.
Ken J. Takayanagi, or Kenji to his friends. bumbling through life as an under-nurtured creative soul, he persists on nothing but luck. this is exemplified by the time he was turned to stone, robbed of his stories, and dropped into the ocean for centuries where he was found and kept as a plaything by Slarkrethel the Kraken. Kenji has taken it upon himself since un-petrifying to explore the future without care, show his tentacle friend Slark around dry land, and practice flute-illusions (the hard way, since a shortcut involving summoning a devil to make a deal for instant expert skill didn't work out).
figured out the series yet? nerd hint: Kenjiro Takayanagi may have invented television at the same time as Philo Farnsworth. is that good news, everyone?
Bender Bending Rodriguez and Phillip J. Fry are from the show Futurama

unhappy at the way in which we lost individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
