I love the Abyss and Hells. I intend on dealing with one of the fiendish groups semi frequently. Unfortunately outside of them having amulets and true names, I have no idea how to approach finding them.
Will I have to brave the abyss and hope I find a demon name on a sticky note? Asmodius accidentally leave his Devil Amulet on his infernal nightstand?
That all depends on what you mean by wanting to deal with one of the fiendish groups. Amulets and true names typically deal with control or influence over a fiend, with amulets being very rare. A few other ways that spring to mind when it comes to interacting with fiends could be to:
Introduce a cult or warlock that follows/has made a pact with a fiend, and use them as an intermediary to that fiend.
Have your players find the ritual to contact a fiend/the Abyss or Nine Hells in a forbidden section of a library, or ancient spellbook.
Powerful fiends can contact mortals in their dreams, often to make pacts - particularly if the mortal is desperate, such as a prisoner who has perhaps prayed to 'anyone who will listen' to help them escape their scheduled execution.
Powerful fiends also typically have actual fiends as agents in the Material Plane (such as imps and succubi ([Tooltip Not Found])) that can change shape, and lurk among mortals. Alternatively, perhaps a rogue fiend hides in the Material Plane, acting independently.
There are also normal spells in 5e for this purpose, such as contact other plane and infernal calling (from Xanathar's Guide to Everything).
Finally, your players could perhaps find a magic item with a fiend trapped inside it, or find a magic item that lets you communicate into the Abyss/Hells with one specific fiend.
Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes is a brilliant read for anyone wanting to do anything remotely fiend-related in their D&D game, I definitely recommend it if you're in a position to purchase it/borrow a copy from a friend. There's a couple of hour's worth of lore on fiends, a plethora of information on their cults, and a bunch of new fiendish monsters.

Any ideas appreciated.
